Speech-Language Pathology

 Judith Rosenfield, M.A., CCC-SLP, is a licensed speech-language pathologist, and Director/ Owner of the King’s Speech and Learning Center. She has 30 years of experience treating patients of all ages and medical needs, and supervising and managing teams of speech-language pathologists. Before developing the Wait Your Turn  social language program, and opening King’s Speech and Learning Center, Judith was the former owner of Swallowing Diagnostics, LLC  which provides portable endoscopy studies to hospitals and nursing centers throughout New England.

As a mother of four children, she understands the reality of parenting and the importance of building skills from each individual’s unique set of gifts. Ms. Rosenfield received her B.A. degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Connecticut in 1983, her M.A. degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 1985 from the Ohio State University where she extensively studied adult-child conversational language development, and completed several Ph.D. courses at the University of Pittsburgh where she studied Generalized Language Learning in Developmentally Delayed Preschoolers.

Kristina Ash, M.S., CF-SLP received her Bachelors of Arts in speech, language, and hearing sciences from the University of Connecticut, and her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Gallaudet University in Washington DC. She is conversationally fluent in sign language and has a wealth of experience in aural rehabilitation. Kristina has a passion for working with young children and has a special manner in which she relates to all of her clients.

 

 

Llee

Llee A. Hardy, M.S., CCC-SLP/TSLD is an innovative and strategic licensed speech-language pathologist with a passion for providing speech and language therapy services to children and adolescents. Llee has worked throughout the Hartford Public School district in a variety of schools as well as within many specialized programs. In addition to providing services to our families at our Simsbury Office Llee is currently the lead/supervising speech-language pathologist for the Early Childhood Assessment Team for Hartford Public Schools in Hartford, CT as well as a chart auditor for Seabury Nursing Home in Bloomfield, CT.  Areas of specialized training include literacy (Haskins and Orton-Gillingham), Hanen Therapy and LSVT. Llee completed her undergraduate degree at Howard University in Washington, D.C. in 2008 and her masters at Columbia University in 2010 where she completed her field experience across NYC, Ghana, West Africa and Bolivia, La Paz.

 

warren AdamsWarren Adams, M.S., CCC-SLP is an energetic and compassionate addition to KSLC. Warren is a graduate of Southern Connecticut University’s speech-language pathology program with a strong background in both rehabilitation from his training at Gaylord Hospital, and education from his current work at Hartford Public Schools. Warren is a knowledgable clinician with  a respectful and caring manner which serves him well at “coaching” his clients to success. Warren enjoys managing a variety of communication disorders across children and adult populations, though  has a particular specialty in neurogenic stuttering disorders.

 

 

Lesley Wolk, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist in Connecticut who has worked clinically in the field for over 25 years.  She received her Masters in Speech Pathology from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and her PhD in communication sciences and disorders from Syracuse University in New York. She has had extensive experience in providing speech , language and voice services to both children and adults. Lesley has also held several university academic positions in both Connecticut and New York. She enjoys both teaching students and research in the field, with special interests in stuttering , neurological conditions, articulation and voice disorders. She has presented scientific and clinical papers at several national and international conferences, and published papers in many professional journals. Her research on vocal fry in young adults was featured on the Today Show in December, 2011. She  currently treats  both children and adults.

 

Connie Keating, MS, CCC-SLP, received her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of New Hampshire where she received extensive training in Pediatric Dysphagia, Autism Spectrum Disorders, AAC therapy, and intensive medical needs in an acute care hospital and NICU. Connie graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in  Developmental Disabilities. In addition to treating patients of all ages at KSLC, Connie is a case manager for Hartford Public School Early Childhood Development Center’s Birth to Three Transition Team, and provides speech-language services to multiple community based preschool programs. Connie is a talented clinician, and we are fortunate to have her as part of our team.

 

 

 Occupational Therapy/Home Sensory Diet

Shayna Klomberg, MSOTR/L, holds her bachelors of science in applied exercise science from Springfield College and her masters of education in occupational therapy also from Springfield College.  She worked full-time as an occupational therapist at a private pediatric clinic in Farmington, CT for four years.  Shayna is a certified provider in Integrated Listening Systems and Interactive Metronome.  She has also completed extensive training in sensory processing disorder and completed a mentorship with Lucy Jane Miller at the STAR center in Colorado.  In addition to working at KSLC, she is currently working at Goodwin College as a fieldwork supervisor for occupational therapy assistant students completing their level II pediatric fieldwork placements. Shayna brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to her work  which is reflected in her successful treatment outcomes.

Maggie Murphy, MSOTR/L received her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development and Education from the University of Connecticut, and continued her education at Springfield College receiving a Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy. She currently works full time in a public school system serving children receiving special education services. Maggie is passionate about working with children and families with a variety of abilities and needs. She is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and has attended 2 national AOTA conferences in 2014 and 2015.

 

Erica Klimek MS/OTR/L, holds her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Sacred Heart University and her masters in Occupational Therapy also from Sacred Heart University . She currently works full time for ACES and delivers school based occupational therapy services to students. She also has experience working in a private pediatric clinic for 3 years. She is a certified provider in Integrated Listening System and has attended multiple conferences on sensory integration. Erica is passionate about working with children and dedicated to helping them learn and develop skills that they need to succeed in their daily  life.
